Housing & Community Development

My work on housing and community development has focused on how federal policy can expand access to safe, affordable homes and reduce homelessness. In Congress, I worked with legislators and staff on financial services, housing and infrastructure issues and engaged with homelessness initiatives, including participating in New York City’s HOPE street count. I coordinated legal representation for low-income residents facing foreclosure included in U.S. Public Law 110-289, and the multifamily resolution program to stabilize buildings at risk of default, disinvestment, and foreclosure included in U.S. Public Law 111-203. At HUD, my work in Public and Indian Housing deepened my understanding of how national programs shape residents’ lives and local capacity. Together, these experiences inform my interest in how policy, implementation, and community needs meet in the places people live.
